History

Virginia Gutter Shutter is a division of Thompson Creek Window Company. We are a locally owned family run company with strong ties to the Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC areas. For over 25 years we have been building our reputation with area consumers and earning customers for life.

Founded in 1980 by Earnest F. Wuest Jr., Thompson Creek Window Company has grown from a small window factory to become one of the top home improvement companies in the entire nation. In 1997 we outgrew our original facility in downtown Annapolis, Maryland and moved into a beautiful state-of-the-art 20,000 square-foot facility located in Stevensville, Maryland. We welcome visitors and offer free factory tours by appointment.

In 1999, Thompson Creek merged with National Home Industries, a highly respected home improvement company and we gained 50 plus years of home improvement knowledge and experience. Our factory showroom and service center in Lanham, Maryland opened in 2003. In 2008, our factory and showroom relocated to a state-of-the-art 80,000 square foot facility in Landover, Maryland.

A lot has changed since 1980 but much has stayed the same. At Thompson Creek Window Company we believe that the relationships we have with our customers is the driving force behind our success. This consumer centric approach is what has allowed us to grow into the company we are today and will be the key to our continued success in our next 25 years.
